Join a professional wildlife photographer for an exclusive private session on Fernandina's surreal lava fields, capturing intimate portraits of marine iguanas, sea lions, and cormorants in golden-hour light on the world's most pristine volcanic island.
What to expect
Your expert photographer guide leads the group along Fernandina's Punta Espinoza trail in the optimal light of early morning or late afternoon, when the low sun turns the black lava and ochre iguanas into extraordinary photographic subjects. The guide coaches composition, exposure settings, and how to move quietly around wildlife to capture natural behaviour — an iguana mid-sneeze expelling salt, a cormorant offering a fish to its chick, a sea lion pup nursing on a sunlit boulder. The images guests bring home are gallery-worthy, not snapshots.
Good to know
Bring your own camera equipment — the guide will advise on optimal lens choices when you book. Any camera system is welcome, including smartphone photography at the guide's discretion. Session runs 2.5–3 hours. The lava surface is extremely uneven; sturdy, closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Pre-book at least 4–6 weeks ahead.
