Sail by sea to both Portofino and the breathtaking 13th-century San Fruttuoso Abbey, set in an unreachable-by-road cove. Two of Liguria's greatest icons in one unforgettable small-group day on the water.
What to expect
The boat departs Santa Margherita's palm-lined harbour and rounds the Portofino headland, calling first at the village to explore its piazzetta cafés and the Castello Brown. The second, showstopping stop is San Fruttuoso: a perfectly preserved Doria family abbey that appears suddenly in a tiny cove framed by pine-clad cliffs. Swim off the shingle beach in front of the abbey, explore its vaulted interior, and take lunch at one of the two simple seafood restaurants perched at the water's edge.
Good to know
San Fruttuoso Abbey entry costs an additional EUR 5 (FAI members free). Boats return via Camogli or Santa Margherita — confirm the return leg. All-aboard times: depart Santa Margherita by 09:00 to allow full exploration. Pre-book in peak season. The abbey can be combined with a private charter for a fully bespoke experience.
