Join award-winning Pembrokeshire wildlife photographer Drew Buckley for a private or small-group day on Skomer, learning to capture frame-filling puffin portraits in one of Europe's most photogenic nature reserves. Unmatched expert knowledge of light, behaviour, and the island's best vantage points.
What to expect
Drew leads you to the island's most productive puffin ledges and burrow fields at the optimal time of day for soft coastal light. He coaches composition, shutter speed, and patience — the art of waiting for a puffin to return with a beak-full of sand eels. The workshop covers Razorbills, Guillemots, and Grey Seals too. Post-session image review and editing tips are included.
Good to know
Skomer landing fees (GBP 32–42) are additional to the workshop fee. Numbers strictly limited — typically 1–4 participants. Book weeks ahead for peak puffin season (May–July). Martin's Haven car park charges GBP 7/day (payable by app or coin). Wear muted colours and soft-soled shoes for wildlife proximity.
