As the sun sets over the Atlantic, Lomé transforms into one of West Africa's most vibrant night cities — an open-air pageant of grilled street food, live Afrobeats, and lantern-lit beach bars that almost no cruise passenger ever experiences. A private evening guide unlocks it all safely and stylishly.
What to expect
Your private guide collects you from the pier as the heat softens and leads you first to a neighbourhood street-food circuit: brochettes of spiced grilled meat, fried plantain, and Togolese akpan (fermented corn pudding) served on plastic tables with cold Flag lager or fresh bissap juice. The route winds to the atmospheric beachfront Boulevard, where palm-thatched bars overlook the luminous surf of the Gulf of Guinea. A final stop at a local music spot — live Afrobeats, Coupé-Décalé, or traditional agbadza drumming depending on the evening — closes the night on a high note that is pure, unscripted West Africa.
