Normandy D-Day Beaches: Private Full-Day Guided Journey

Stand on Omaha Beach, walk through the Normandy American Cemetery, and descend into the Atlantic Wall bunkers with an expert historian. One of the most emotionally profound experiences available from any European cruise port.

What to expect

Depart Vernon early by private vehicle to cover the 90-minute drive west. Visit Pointe du Hoc (the scarred clifftop ranger objective), Omaha Beach and the Colleville-sur-Mer American Cemetery with its 9,388 white marble crosses, and Utah Beach with its museum and preserved landing craft. The afternoon covers Sainte-Mère-Église, where paratroopers landed by night. Your guide weaves personal soldier stories throughout. Return to Vernon by early evening.

Good to know

Book at least 4–6 weeks ahead in summer. The full day is approximately 10–11 hours; confirm your ship's all-aboard time and share it with the operator when booking. Comfortable walking shoes essential — terrain at Pointe du Hoc is uneven.
