What to expect
Your local guide briefs you on paddling technique (no experience needed) and leads you south along Vanimo's beach arc, hugging the shoreline where the jungle meets the sea. Look for sea eagles riding thermals overhead, and the occasional dugong surfacing in the shallows. As the sun drops towards the Indonesian highlands across the border, the light turns molten gold — an outrageously beautiful moment best experienced from the water. Conclude with a beach-side fresh coconut before returning to port.
Good to know
Arrange through NTA and confirm departure time relative to your all-aboard. This excursion works best in the late afternoon; check sunset time for your sailing date. Wear swimwear under light clothing; a dry bag for valuables is provided. Maximum 6 paddlers per guide.
