Stand on the edge of one of South America's most dramatic canyons — Itaimbezinho, a 5.8 km fissure dropping 720 m into the Atlantic Forest below. A private guided descent into this UNESCO-recognized landscape is a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle.
What to expect
Your private naturalist collects you at the port and drives through araucária pine forests to the Parque Nacional Aparados da Serra. Two rim trails — Trilha do Vértice and Trilha do Cotovelo — yield vertiginous views of the twin waterfalls threading the canyon floor. On the expert-led full descent (seasonal), you abseil past bromeliad-draped cliff faces before lunching on regional churrasco at a heritage estância. Return transfer times perfectly with all-aboard.
Good to know
Pre-book well in advance — private slots are limited, especially Nov–Mar peak season. The canyon is ~2.5 hrs from the port; confirm all-aboard time with operator at booking. Wear closed shoes and bring a light waterproof layer.
