Arctic Sea-Kayaking Among Icebergs at Kangikitsoq

Paddle a sea kayak silently through a gallery of sculpted icebergs, floating at water level alongside house-sized ice formations in shades of blue you've never seen before. The ultimate Arctic intimacy — just you, the paddle, and the ice.

What to expect

After a comprehensive safety and paddling briefing, you don a drysuit and launch from a sheltered beach with your WAFA-certified guide. The group is capped at 8 paddlers. You weave between icebergs at your own pace, pausing in natural ice grottos for photographs and to listen to the otherworldly sounds of melting ice. Wildlife sightings — seals, diving birds — are common at water level.

Good to know

No kayaking experience is necessary; the guide assesses conditions daily and selects calm, sheltered routes. Duration is approximately 2.5 hours on the water. Drysuits are provided; bring a warm base layer underneath. Pre-book well in advance as the 8-person cap fills immediately on cruise call days. Confirm all-aboard time carefully — allow 45 minutes transit buffer.
