What to expect
Board a purpose-fitted charter vessel from Nuku'alofa harbour. Your guide monitors the pod until conditions are ideal, then leads a calm, silent slide into crystal-blue water beside the whales. Encounters typically last 20–40 minutes in the water, with multiple entries. Snorkel gear, wetsuits, and a marine briefing are all included.
Good to know
Available June–November only (whale season). Pre-book weeks ahead — spaces are extremely limited. Allow a full day; confirm the operator can have you back by your ship's all-aboard time before booking. Operators are experienced with cruise-ship schedules.
