Big Apple Coaster in Las Vegas: Worth It?

The Big Apple Coaster is a proper steel roller coaster right on the Las Vegas Strip that hits 67 mph with a big drop, loops, and a unique heartline twist that flips you upside down while your body stays centered. You get solid views of the city and the fake New York skyline it rockets around. The ride itself lasts under two minutes but feels longer thanks to the intensity. Newer trains are noticeably smoother than the old ones; try to get those if you can. The attached arcade is decent but nothing special—just a way to kill time if you bought a combo ticket.

Expect to pay around $25–$45 per person depending on whether you want just the coaster, a ride-and-arcade pass, or a multi-ride wristband. Evenings in spring and fall are best: temperatures are comfortable and the Strip lights look great after dark. Summer nights still work but lines get longer and it stays hot longer. Avoid midday in summer unless you like standing in direct sun.

Honest tip: ride at night if possible—the visual payoff is much better. Skip the arcade unless you have kids or extra time; the money is better spent on a second ride. If you're prone to motion sickness, eat light beforehand. Single riders sometimes get loaded quickly, so ask.
