This is a solid half-day activity: a 6 km paved path along sandstone cliffs linking a string of beautiful beaches. Expect dramatic ocean views, regular ups and downs, and several places to stop for a swim or coffee. The walk itself takes 1.5–2.5 hours depending on how often you pause for photos or dips at Tamarama, Bronte, or Clovelly. It's exposed, so you'll feel the sun and wind the whole way. The trail is easy to follow, shared with runners and locals, and finishes right at Coogee Beach where you can grab lunch or a beer.
Best time is spring (Sep–Nov) or autumn (Mar–May) when the temperature is comfortable and the wind isn't brutal. Summer is gorgeous but hot and crowded; winter can be surprisingly pleasant if you're layered up. Expect to pay around A$0–60 total: it's completely free if you do it independently, or A$40–60 for a small-group guided walk that includes commentary and sometimes a return transfer.
Honest tips: start at Bondi and walk to Coogee so the prevailing breeze is at your back and you finish with easier transport options. Skip the overpriced cafés right at Bondi — wait until Bronte or Coogee for better value. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and enough water; there are drinking fountains but no shade for long stretches.
