Is Edge at Hudson Yards Worth It?

Edge is a glass-walled observation deck that sticks out from the 100th floor of a Hudson Yards tower, giving you 360-degree views over Manhattan, the Hudson River, and New Jersey. The experience is modern and a bit theme-park-like: angled glass floors, wind effects, and an open-air section where you can lean out over the city. It’s genuinely impressive on a clear day but feels crowded and commercial when it’s busy. Most people spend 30-45 minutes there.

Go in late fall through early spring on a weekday morning if you can. Visibility is usually best then and you’ll avoid the worst summer crowds and heat. Expect to pay around $50–$80 for a standard timed ticket; private or “luxury” experiences push well over $120 per person. Sunset slots cost more but are popular for a reason.

Pick a clear-weather weekday morning slot and skip the overpriced add-ons or bundled tours unless you really want the High Line guided walk. If you already have access to similar views from Summit or One World Observatory, Edge is skippable. Otherwise it’s a solid, if expensive, New York bucket-list item.
