Flyover gives you the sensation of flying over landscapes without leaving the Strip. You stand on a moving platform in front of a giant curved screen while wind, mist, and scents hit you. The actual ride portion lasts only about 5-8 minutes. Expect a fair amount of waiting in line, preshow explanations, and safety briefings before you fly. It's a solid experience if you like simulator rides, but it feels short for the price and prep time involved.
Go in the shoulder seasons (spring or fall) to avoid the worst summer heat and winter crowds. Midweek mornings tend to have shorter waits. Expect to pay around $40-70 per person depending on time of day, whether you add a photo or upgrade your seat, and any bundled tickets. It's cheaper than a helicopter tour but obviously less real.
Pick the Grand Canyon or American West flight if it's your first time; the visuals are strongest there. Skip the add-on photo package unless you really want it—the on-ride photos are rarely worth the extra money. Wear comfortable shoes and avoid the front row if motion sensitivity is an issue.
