A hop-on hop-off bus in Brussels gives you a decent overview of the city without needing to plan routes. Expect an open-top double-decker (or covered in bad weather) looping past the Grand Place, Atomium, EU district, and a few other landmarks. The audio guide is usually adequate—informative but not thrilling. Buses run every 15–30 minutes in summer, less frequently in winter. The full loop takes roughly 90 minutes if you stay on. It’s convenient if your time is short or mobility is limited, but Brussels is compact enough that you can cover most highlights faster and cheaper on foot plus the excellent tram and metro.

Best time is April–June or September–early October when crowds are lighter and the weather is usually decent. Expect to pay around €22–€35 for a 24-hour ticket; 48-hour tickets are only worth it if you plan to use the bus heavily both days. One honest tip: buy the ticket for the red route that hits the Atomium if you want to see the northern part of the city; skip the green EU-focused loop unless you have a specific interest in the institutions. Pair the bus with a good walking tour of the historic center instead of relying on it for everything—you’ll enjoy the Grand Place and surrounding streets far more on foot than from the top deck.
