The hot springs and mud pools just outside Nadi are a rustic, very Fijian experience. You’ll soak in naturally heated mineral pools (usually around 38–40°C) and cover yourself in silky grey mud that locals swear improves your skin. It’s not a luxury spa — think basic concrete pools, simple changing rooms, and a laid-back village atmosphere. The whole thing takes 2–4 hours depending on whether you combine it with an ATV ride or just do a straightforward visit. It’s fun and memorable if you like natural, slightly quirky attractions, but it won’t be the highlight of Fiji if you’re after polished comfort.
Best time is the dry season from May to October when it’s cooler and less humid. Expect to pay around $90–$160 per person. Cheaper options are simple transfers and entry; higher prices usually include private transport, an ATV adventure through the hills, or a longer guided experience. One solid tip: skip the big group tours if you can and go early in the morning — it’s much more pleasant before the crowds and the mud gets churned up. If you’re short on time or hate getting dirty, just skip it entirely; the beach is probably a better use of your day.
