Ice Bar in Stockholm: Worth It?

Expect a 30-45 minute visit inside a bar kept at around -5°C (23°F) where everything from the walls and bar to your glass is made of ice. You'll get a thermal cape and gloves at the entrance, one included drink (usually a fruity cocktail in an ice glass), and that's about it. It's touristy, loud, and crowded with groups rotating in and out. The cold feels intense at first but the cape helps; after 20 minutes most people are ready to leave. It's a fun, silly photo op rather than a place to linger and chat.

Best time is December to March when it's properly cold outside and the experience matches the season. In summer it feels more gimmicky. Expect to pay around 250-400 SEK per person including the entry, cape, and one drink; add more if you want extra cocktails or photos. Skip the overpriced add-on packages and over-the-top VIP options.

Honest tip: order something strong and sweet because the ice glass chills your drink fast and dilutes it. Skip trying to stay for a second round – one drink is plenty. Pair it with a warm dinner nearby afterward so you actually enjoy the contrast. It's not life-changing but it's a quick, memorable Stockholm thing to tick off once.
