Expect a mix of serious naval history and hands-on kid-friendly exhibits. You’ll walk through the hangar deck, climb onto the flight deck for great river views, and can tour a cold-war era submarine docked alongside. It takes 2–3 hours at a comfortable pace. The experience feels more like a naval museum with an aircraft collection than a traditional history museum—loud, metallic, and interesting even if you’re not a military buff.

Go in spring or fall if you can; summer gets hot and crowded on the exposed flight deck, while winter wind off the river can be brutal. Expect to pay around $35–$45 for a standard adult ticket. Adding the audio guide or a guided highlights tour pushes it closer to $50–$75. The combo tickets that bundle it with a Times Square walking tour are usually not worth it unless you specifically want both.
