Machine Gun Shooting in Las Vegas: What to Know

Shooting full-auto machine guns in Las Vegas is exactly what it sounds like: loud, fun, and a bit surreal. You'll stand on a range, get a quick safety briefing, then fire bursts from an MP5, Uzi, or M4 while an instructor helps control the weapon. Expect noise, recoil, and the unmistakable smell of gunpowder. It's thrilling for 15-20 minutes but not something you'll do for hours. Most packages include a mix of pistols, rifles, and one or two machine guns plus targets. It's very safe when done right, but it's not a theme park ride—treat it seriously.

Go between October and April. Summers are brutally hot and ranges feel like ovens; winter and shoulder months are far more comfortable. Expect to pay around $250–$450 depending on the package. Basic ones with a few guns run cheaper, while “VIP” or “full auto fury” packages with rare weapons like the Tommy Gun or belt-fed machine guns push higher. Add-ons, photos, and extra ammo add up fast.

Pick a package that includes at least one submachine gun and one rifle; skip the overpriced “celebrity” or rare exotic guns unless you're a serious collector—they're often not worth the markup. Bring ear and eye protection if you have your own (they'll provide it but quality varies). Most importantly, go sober. This is one activity where you really want to be clear-headed.
