Shooting Guns in Las Vegas: What to Know

Expect a loud, high-energy range session where you’ll shoot a mix of handguns and rifles under constant instructor supervision. Most packages last 60–90 minutes and include safety briefing, targets, ammo, and transport from the Strip. It’s genuinely fun if you like guns or want something different from casinos, but it’s not a “Wild West fantasy” — it’s a commercial range with strict rules, ear/eye protection, and a fair amount of waiting between rotations. The experience is safe when you listen, but it gets very loud and can feel rushed if the group is large.

Best time is October–April when it’s cooler; summer outdoor ranges are brutal in 110°F heat. Expect to pay around $250–$450 per person depending on the package. The $300–$350 range usually gives you a solid mix of pistols, an AR-15 or similar rifle, and decent ammo without feeling ripped off. Skip the cheapest “$99” deals — they’re almost always tiny calibers with almost no bullets. The full-auto machine gun add-ons are loud and impressive for 30 seconds but burn money fast and aren’t very educational.
