Stratosphere Observation Deck in Las Vegas

The STRAT observation deck sits at 1,149 feet and gives you 360-degree views of the entire Las Vegas Strip, downtown, and the surrounding desert and mountains. You get both an indoor climate-controlled level with big windows and an outdoor deck that feels genuinely high up. Expect wind, especially at night, and a slight sway on breezy days. The experience is straightforward: ride the elevator up, walk around, take photos, and ride back down. No rides or thrill elements are included in basic admission. It’s a quick 30-45 minute visit for most people.

Best time to go is just before sunset so you catch daylight views then watch the Strip light up. Spring and fall are ideal; summer afternoons are brutally hot on the outdoor deck and winter nights can be freezing. Expect to pay around $25–$40 per adult for standard admission, more if you add any thrill rides or go during peak evening hours. Kids and locals get discounts.

Pick the open-air deck for the real “holy shit” feeling and better photos. Skip the overpriced gift shop and any add-on rides unless you specifically want them. If you’re afraid of heights or it’s very windy, the indoor deck is perfectly fine. Go once, see it at golden hour, then move on to dinner.
