It’s smooth rather than extreme; thermals can make it bumpy on hot afternoons, but the ocean breeze usually keeps things civil. Most people describe it as surprisingly peaceful once you’re airborne, with the real adrenaline hit coming in the first 30 seconds after takeoff.

The best time is the southern winter (June–September) when the marine layer burns off by mid-morning and winds are steadier. Avoid summer afternoons when it gets windy and hazy. Expect to pay around $80–$130 for a standard 10–15 minute tandem flight including transport from central Miraflores and basic video. Longer scenic flights or photo packages push toward the higher end.
