Expect a mix of bumpy dirt-road transport (often open-air trucks or safari-style vehicles), short guided walks, fruit tasting, and a demonstration of how cocoa is turned into chocolate or how coffee is roasted. The actual plantation part usually lasts 45-90 minutes; many tours bundle it with a monkey sanctuary, horseback riding, or a city stop, stretching the whole thing to 4-6 hours. It’s touristy but can be genuinely interesting if you like agricultural history and fresh tropical flavors. The heat and humidity are real—bring water, sunscreen, and a hat.

Best time is December through April when it’s drier and slightly cooler. Rainy season tours (May-November) often still run but can turn muddy and muggy.
