Don’t expect to just hop on a superyacht in central Milan; you’ll drive 45–90 minutes to the departure point. Once aboard, it’s a proper private experience: captain, crew, and the boat to yourselves. You can swim, eat, drink, and cruise the coastline without crowds. The actual time on the water is usually 4–7 hours after transit.

Best time is mid-May to mid-September, with June and September giving the sweet spot of good weather and fewer people. July and August get hot and busy. Expect to pay around €2,200–€4,500 for a half-day private boat for up to 6–8 people, or €3,800–€7,000+ for a full day with decent catering and fuel included. Larger or luxury yachts climb quickly from there.

Pick a mid-week departure if your schedule allows; weekends are noticeably more expensive and crowded at the marinas. Skip the super-cheap “private” listings under €1,800 — they’re usually shared boats rebranded or have hidden fuel and captain fees that appear at the end. Book one that includes an English-speaking captain who actually suggests sensible itineraries instead of just driving in circles.
