Best time is April through August when seas are calmer and visibility is best. Avoid mid-December to mid-March if you hate crowds and higher prices. Expect to pay around $110–$160 for a two-tank morning dive trip including gear and transport from your hotel. Intro/discover scuba for beginners runs $90–$130 for one shallow dive. Add $25–40 for Nitrox or a third afternoon dive if offered.

Pick a small-group operator that limits numbers per boat and offers afternoon departures when the morning rush is over. Skip the big catamaran-style “diving + snorkel + party boat” combos; the diving portion feels rushed and the boat is chaotic. If you’re already a certified diver, consider one day of local reefs and save multi-day packages for better sites elsewhere in the Dominican Republic.
