Seadog is a fast, loud, open-air speedboat that blasts around Lake Michigan with sharp turns, big splashes, and plenty of engine roar. Expect 30-45 minutes of thrills mixed with some basic skyline narration. It's geared toward fun rather than relaxation: you'll get wet, especially in the front rows, and the boat can feel like a roller coaster on the water. Great on a blazing summer day when the spray actually cools you off, but it can be chilly or miserable if it's windy or cold. Kids usually love it; adults who want a quiet sightseeing cruise usually don't.
Best time is mid-summer (July and August) when the lake is warmest and weather is most predictable. Shoulder months like June and September are riskier for rough water or cancellations. Expect to pay around $45–$70 per adult and $35–$55 per child depending on timing and whether you book ahead. Sunset trips sometimes cost a bit more.
Tip: sit toward the back if you want less water in your face and slightly less motion. Skip the front two rows unless you're prepared to get soaked. Also, don't bother with the narrated "sightseeing" version if all you want is the thrill ride; just pick the fastest, loudest option they offer.
