Skydiving Over Palm Jumeirah: Worth It?

Skydiving over Palm Jumeirah gives you about 60 seconds of freefall followed by a 4–5 minute parachute ride with sweeping views of the Palm, the marina, and the Dubai skyline. The drop zone is right on the Palm itself, so the flight to altitude is short and the boat-shaped island stays in view almost the entire descent. It’s a smooth, professional operation with solid safety standards, but it’s still a proper skydive – expect your stomach to do flips on exit and your legs to feel like jelly when you land. The whole experience from briefing to landing usually takes 3–4 hours.

Best time is November to March when temperatures are comfortable (20–28°C) and the wind is usually calmer. Summer jumps are possible but brutal – 40°C+ on the ground and the suit feels like a sauna. Expect to pay around $850–$1,200 for a tandem jump including pickup, photos, and video. Basic packages start lower but you’ll want the full video package or you’ll regret it.

Tip: Book the morning slot if you can – the air is clearer and the light is better for photos. Skip the add-on “VIP” lounge nonsense; the regular setup is perfectly fine. If you’re on the fence, this is one of the more scenic tandem jumps you can do anywhere, but it’s not cheap. Do it on a clear day or don’t bother.
