Edge Walk in Dubai: Is It Worth It?

The edge walk is exactly what it sounds like: you step out onto a narrow outdoor ledge roughly 200 meters up, clipped to an overhead rail, and walk hands-free around the building with nothing but glass and air between you and the ground. It’s a full 360° loop that takes about 20-30 minutes once you’re on the platform. Expect strong wind (sometimes very strong), a bit of knee wobble at the start, and genuinely impressive views across Downtown Dubai, the Burj Khalifa, and the desert horizon. It feels exposed and exciting rather than terrifying if you’re okay with heights. The whole experience from briefing to finishing photos takes about 90 minutes.

Best time is November to early March when it’s cooler and the wind is more predictable. Avoid summer completely — the heat on the ledge is brutal even in the evening. Expect to pay around $120–$190 per person depending on time of day and whether you add photos or a video package. Sunrise and sunset slots cost more but are worth it.

Pick the sunset slot if you can; the light is dramatically better. Skip the add-on “premium” photo package — your guide will already take plenty of shots on a GoPro that you can buy later if you want them. Wear closed shoes with decent grip and skip this if you have any knee or balance issues.
