Should You Do a Lake Geneva Boat Tour?

Expect comfortable seating, decent commentary in a few languages, and nice views of the Alps, the Jet d'Eau, and the lakeside towns. It's not thrilling but it's genuinely pleasant on a clear day. The boat is stable, there's a bar and toilets, and you can move around on deck or sit inside. In summer the upper deck gets crowded quickly so arrive early if you want a good spot.

Best time is late spring through early autumn (May to September). June and September are ideal: fewer crowds, still warm, and the light on the mountains is beautiful. Expect to pay around CHF 50-90 per adult for a standard cruise; longer trips with stops or dinner options push toward the higher end. Pick the shorter midday or early afternoon departure if it's your first visit; the full loop without long stops is usually enough.
