Ziplining in Puerto Vallarta: Worth It?

Expect a mix of adrenaline and scenery: you'll fly through the jungle canopy on a series of zip lines ranging from short warm-ups to long, sweeping runs 100+ feet above the trees. Most tours last 3–5 hours total including transport, safety briefing, and a short hike between platforms. The actual zipping is over in about an hour. It's physical but not technical—staff handle all the rigging. You'll get dusty, a bit sweaty, and probably smile the whole time. Views are genuinely impressive: thick green hills, occasional ocean glimpses, and the thrill of looking straight down at the forest floor.

Best time is November through April when it's dry and temperatures are milder. Summer rains make trails slippery and can cancel tours. Expect to pay around $90–$180 per person depending on whether you choose a basic 8-line circuit or a bigger combo with ATVs or a longer 11–14 line course. Group sizes are usually 8–12 people.

Tip: pick a morning tour so you're not zipping in the hottest part of the day and the lines move faster. Skip the cheapest rock-bottom options; they often use older gear and larger groups. Bring a small backpack with water, sunscreen, and a quick-dry shirt—you'll want to change after you're done sweating and covered in harness dust.
