Expect a clean, well-designed zoo with spacious habitats and a strong focus on Southeast Asian animals. The white tigers, orangutans, and elephants are highlights, and the layout feels more like a tropical garden than a typical zoo. You’ll walk a lot unless you use the tram. The attached Night Safari is genuinely different – it’s a nocturnal wildlife park where you ride a tram through dark enclosures to see lions, hyenas, and civets. Both are better than average but still zoos; animals can be inactive, especially in the heat.
Best time is the dry season from June to September when rain is less likely to disrupt plans. Go early morning for the zoo to beat crowds and heat, then stay for the Night Safari if you buy a combo ticket. Expect to pay around $60–90 per adult for a single zoo or night safari ticket, or $100–130 for a combined day-and-night visit including tram rides. Kids are roughly half price.
Smart pick: get the combo ticket and do both in one long day – it’s more efficient than separate visits. Skip the expensive animal encounters and photo sessions; they add cost without much extra value. Bring water, wear comfortable shoes, and download the park map in advance – phone signal can be patchy in some areas.
