Jocelyn Nungaray National Wildlife Refuge protects critically important coastal wetlands through active management including prescribed fire, water hydrology, and invasive plant removal. Visitors can observe wildlife from sunrise to sunset via the Shoveler Pond Auto-Tour loop, boardwalks, and overlooks where alligators and six rail species are frequently spotted.
