A Catholic basilica dedicated to the Virgin Mary, located at the foot of Tepeyac Hill, that enshrines an image traditionally associated with a 1531 apparition and now housed in a structure completed in 1976. The basilica attracts approximately twenty million pilgrims annually, including nine million around December 12, making it one of the most visited Marian shrines in the world.
