The Church of San Sebastiano houses an extensive fresco cycle painted by Renaissance master Paolo Veronese from 1558-1559, featuring biblical scenes including the Annunciation, Old Testament prophets and sibyls, the life and martyrdom of Saint Sebastian, and the twelve apostles. Visitors come to view these masterwork frescoes that were comprehensively restored by Save Venice between 2012 and 2015, revealing Veronese's sophisticated use of architectural elements, dramatic compositions, and symbolic iconography across the church's walls.
