The Sumpter Valley Gold Dredge is a massive mining machine from 1935 that operated continuously for nearly two decades extracting gold from the valley floor. Visitors can explore the dredge vessel itself from May through October and take ranger-led weekend tours, while 1.5 miles of trails wind through park wetlands with viewing platforms showing nature's reclamation of the landscape.
