The largest synagogue in Europe, built between 1854-1859 in Moorish Revival style with seating capacity for 3,000 people. Visitors can see the ornate interior with three richly decorated aisles, a mechanical organ, Torah ark containing scrolls from Holocaust-destroyed synagogues, and the adjacent Hungarian Jewish Museum located on the site of Theodor Herzl's birthplace.
