The Karlskirche is a Baroque church in Vienna's Karlsplatz, consecrated in 1737 and dedicated to Saint Charles Borromeo. Visitors come to see its distinctive dome rising 70 meters above a high drum, two flanking columns with spiral relief narratives inspired by Trajan's Column, and its interior frescoed dome depicting Saint Charles Borromeo's intercession with the Virgin Mary.
