Taliesin West is Frank Lloyd Wright's winter home and desert laboratory, a World Heritage site and National Historic Landmark established in 1937 in the McDowell Mountains foothills of Scottsdale. Built largely by Wright and his apprentices using local desert materials, the complex features interconnected low-slung buildings including drafting studios, theaters, workshops, and residences, all designed to blend harmoniously with the desert landscape. Visitors can tour the property via walking tours on gravel and concrete pathways to experience Wright's organic architecture, interior furnishings, and the surrounding desert environment.
