The Whale Museum in Friday Harbor, Washington opened in 1979 as the first museum in the country devoted to a species living in the wild. Visitors experience the Gallery of Whales to learn about the whales of the Pacific Northwest and explore exhibits promoting stewardship of whales and the Salish Sea ecosystem.
