A small private Zodiac glides beneath calved ice from the fjord's glaciers, weaving past nesting cliffs alive with kittiwakes and fulmars.
What to expect
The Zodiac departs the anchorage and threads through Arsuk Fjord's narrow channels, where centuries-old ice calved from inland glaciers drifts in blue-white sculptures. The pilot, an Arctic-certified guide, knows where seals haul out and where the light hits the ice cleanest for photos. Silence, cold air, and the occasional crack of shifting ice make this feel genuinely remote.
Good to know
Book several weeks ahead as Zodiacs are limited to a handful per call; dress in layers with waterproof outer shell. Best done in the first hour after arrival for calmer water and better wildlife activity.
