Tijeretas Hill Viewpoint & Snorkel Cove Walk

A short, unhurried hike above Wreck Bay to the frigatebird-nesting overlook, followed by a quiet snorkel in the cove below where few tour groups linger.

What to expect

From the Interpretation Center, a well-marked trail climbs gently through dry forest to the Tijeretas overlook, where frigatebirds nest in the low scrub at eye level. The path continues down to a small protected cove for an optional snorkel among sea turtles and reef fish. The walk is short enough to pair with lunch in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno's waterfront town center afterward.

Good to know

Free and open daily; go late afternoon for the best light on the overlook and a cooler walk, and bring snorkel gear if you plan to swim the cove.
