What to expect
You board a traditional sloop-rigged sailboat at the Terre-de-Haut jetty and tack out past Fort Napoléon toward the outer islets. The skipper knows exactly which cove is calm and clear at that hour, and you'll anchor for a swim in water so transparent you can count the sea fans below. Coffee, fruit, and local punch are usually part of the ritual before you sail back in.

Book the earliest available departure (often 8am) to beat the crowds and be back well before an early-afternoon all-aboard; the jetty is a two-minute walk from the ferry dock.
