After a short hike or water-taxi to the Pain de Sucre headland, you wade in with a guide who reads the reef like a book, signaling when a hawksbill turtle surfaces for air or a barracuda hangs motionless in the current. The reserve status here keeps the coral notably healthier than more trafficked bays. Sessions are capped at small groups of six or fewer.

Arrive early; the trailhead to Pain de Sucre is a 20-minute walk from the dinghy dock and shade-free at midday. Reserve the 8:30am slot to have the water to yourselves.
