What to expect
You'll cross open barrens and rocky esker ridges to the river's rapids, stopping for stories of seasonal fish camps and traditional plant use. Wildlife sightings (arctic hare, ptarmigan, occasionally caribou) are common. The falls themselves are dramatic against the treeless horizon. Photography and unhurried conversation with your guide are the point, not mileage covered.
