A hands-on carving session in a working artist's studio, learning technique and symbolism directly from a practicing Inuit sculptor.
What to expect
You'll handle raw soapstone, learn basic shaping and polishing techniques, and hear how animal forms and spirit imagery carry meaning in Inuit tradition. The artist works alongside you, correcting grip and angle, sharing family history between cuts. You leave with your own small carved piece.
Good to know
Group size kept to two or three for real instruction time; arrange the private slot ahead via the guide network rather than walking in. Studio is a short walk or taxi from the tender dock.
