Perched on a rocky hilltop above the vines, Le Castellet is one of Provence's most perfectly preserved medieval villages — stone ramparts, a Romanesque chapel, and sweeping views to the sea — paired with a private tasting at a celebrated Bandol domaine.
What to expect
Depart the port on a 30-minute private transfer inland to the Bandol wine country, arriving at Le Castellet village as morning mist lifts off the vines. Your guide leads you through the 11th-century ramparts, the Place de la Mairie with its plane trees, and the ancient chapel with its carved Provençal altar. Then descend to a family-owned Bandol domaine for an exclusive cellar tour and tasting of their aged reds, elegant whites and celebrated rosé, accompanied by local charcuterie and tapenade. Return to the port in time for a Toulon harbour lunch.
Good to know
Le Castellet is just 30 km from the port — an easy half-day. The Circuit Paul Ricard racing track is nearby if your group includes motorsport enthusiasts (can be added). Bandol wine is not widely exported, so this is a genuine chance to buy at cellar-door prices. Book directly with Bonjour Provence well in advance for domaine access.
