Slip out to Koh Hong's lagoon before the day-boats arrive. Turquoise water, limestone karsts, and a beach you'll have almost entirely to yourself.
What to expect
You board a traditional longtail at Nopparat Thara pier with just your own group and a local boatman. The 45-minute ride threads past limestone islets as the light turns gold. At Hong Island you swim and walk the sandbar before any tour buses of day-trippers land, then hop to a quieter neighboring cove for a private lunch on the sand.
Good to know
Depart by 7am to beat the 10am rush of shared tour boats; back at pier by early afternoon leaves a wide margin before all-aboard. Book directly by WhatsApp/phone a few days ahead for a private (not shared) boat.
