Port Grimaud Walking Tour with a Tropezian Guide

Walk the canals of this 1960s 'Venice of Provence' with a local historian who explains how architect François Spoerry built an entire town from scratch — and why it actually feels authentic.

What to expect

Starting at the central Place du Marché, your guide walks you along the canal footbridges, explaining Spoerry's Provençal-vernacular design philosophy and pointing out which houses have private moorings. A short church visit (Notre-Dame-des-Marins) with its striking modern stained glass rounds out the walk. Free time for a canal-side coffee is usually built in.

Good to know

Port Grimaud is a 20-minute taxi or boat transfer from Saint-Tropez port; arrange the guide to meet you at the causeway entrance. Best done in the morning before day-trippers arrive by the busload.
