What to expect
A spiral staircase takes you 35 meters down into a genuine magma chamber and lava tube formed by an eruption thousands of years ago. Inside, the guide points out lava formations, color striations from mineral content, and turns off headlamps briefly so you experience total underground darkness. The chamber opens into a larger cavern before you climb back to daylight.
