Ascend 333 metres to the summit of Mt. Inasa — one of Japan's three great night views — for a breathtaking 360° panorama of Nagasaki harbour glittering below. Pair it with a refined kaiseki dinner at a harbourside restaurant for an evening of pure Japanese luxury.
What to expect
A short taxi ride from the port brings you to the ropeway base station, where gondolas glide up through forested slopes to the summit. The observation deck wraps around the peak, offering unobstructed views across Nagasaki Harbour, Hashima Island in the distance, and the surrounding green hills. As dusk settles, the city lights bloom below in extraordinary fashion. Descend and transfer to a curated harbourside kaiseki restaurant for a multi-course seasonal dinner featuring local Nagasaki seafood, wagyu, and sake pairings.
Good to know
Mt. Inasa is best experienced at sunset/dusk — ideal for ships with an overnight stay or late all-aboard. The ropeway runs until 22:00. Arrange a pre-booked kaiseki table (Nagasaki Grand Hotel or Sakamoto-ya are superb choices) to avoid disappointment. Taxi from port is approximately 15 minutes.
