Ride the open-air single-seat seggiovia from Anacapri village to Monte Solaro — at 589 m the highest point on the island — for a 360° panorama over the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius, and the Amalfi Coast that photographers dream about.
What to expect
The 13-minute chairlift ascent floats you above terraced gardens and fragrant Mediterranean scrub, with cinematic views opening wider with every metre gained. At the summit, the panorama stretches from the Bay of Naples and the brooding cone of Vesuvius across to the Sorrentine Peninsula and, on clear days, to the distant Amalfi Coast. A small café and a 14th-century Gothic chapel, Santa Maria Cetrella, punctuate the plateau. The descent on foot via a scenic trail through Anacapri is a lovely alternative to the return chair.
